The Family Night Prayer
The night is falling dear Mother, the long day is o’er,
Before thy loved image, I am kneeling once more.
To thank thee for keeping me safe through the day,
To ask thee this night to keep evil away.
Many times have I fallen today Mother dear,
Many graces neglected since last I knelt here.
Oh wilt thou have mercy my own Mother mild,
Ask Jesus to pardon the sins of thy child.
I am going to rest, for the day’s work is done,
It’s hours and its moments have passed one by one.
And the God who will judge me has noted them all,
He has listed each deed and numbered each fall.
In His book they are written against the last day,
Oh Mother, please ask Him to wash them away.
For one drop of His blood, which for sinners was spilt,
Is sufficient to wash the whole world from its guilt.
And if near the dawn I should draw my last breath,
And the sleep that I take be the long sleep of death.
Be with me dear Mother for Dear Jesus sake,
When my soul in eternity sure shall awake.

Oh Lord, we pray you to visit this home and drive from it all snares of the enemy. Let Your holy angels dwell in it to preserve us in peace; and let Your blessing be always upon us, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer for Daily Neglects
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with all its love, all its sufferings and all its merits.
First — To expiate all the sins I have committed this day and during all my life. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Second — To purify the good I have done poorly this day and during all my life. Glory Be, etc.
Third — To supply for the good I ought to have done, and that I have neglected this day and all my life. Glory Be, the Son and the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end.

Forgiveness Prayer
O my God, at the end of this day I thank You most heartily for all the graces I have received from You. I am sorry that I have not made a better use of them. I am sorry for all the sins I have committed against You. Forgive me, O my God, and graciously protect me this night. Blessed Virgin Mary, my dear heavenly mother, take me under your protection. St. Joseph, my dear Guardian Angel, and all you saints of God, pray for me. Sweet Jesus, have pity on all poor sinners, and save them from hell. Have mercy on the suffering souls in purgatory… (followed by an Act of Contrition)
Evening Prayer to the Holy Spirit
O Holy Spirit, most merciful Comforter: You proceed from the Father in a manner beyond our understanding. Come, I beseech You, and take up your abode in my heart. Purify and cleanse me from all sin, and sanctify my soul. Cleanse it from every impurity, water its dryness, melt its coldness, and save it from its sinful ways. Make me truly humble and resigned, that I may be pleasing to You, and that You might abide with me forever. Most Blessed Light, most Amiable Light, enlighten me. O Rapturous Joy of Paradise, Fount of Purest Delight, My God, give yourself to me and kindle in my innermost soul the fire of Your love. My Lord, instruct, direct, and defend me in all things. Give me strength against all immoderate fears and against despondency. Bestow upon me a true faith, a firm hope, and a sincere and a perfect love. Grant that I always do Thy Most Gracious Will.

Thanksgiving and Petition
I adore You, my God, and I love You with all my heart. I thank you for having created me, for having made me a Christian, and for having preserved me this day. Pardon me for the evil I have done today. If I have done anything good, be pleased to accept it. Protect me while I take my rest and deliver me from all dangers. May your grace be always with me.
