Thanksgiving To God
O God, of Whose mercies there is no number, and of Whose goodness the treasure is infinite; we render thanks to Your most gracious majesty for the gifts You have bestowed upon us, evermore beseeching Your clemency, that as You grant the petitions of those that ask You, You will never forsake them, but will prepare them for the reward to come. Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Father In Heaven
Father in Heaven, Creator of all and source of all goodness and love, please look kindly upon us and receive our heartfelt gratitude in this time of giving thanks. Thank you for all the graces and blessings You have bestowed upon us, spiritual and temporal: our faith and religious heritage. Our food and shelter, our health, the loves we have for one another, our family and friends. Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us continued graces and blessing throughout the coming year. This we ask in the Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Brother.
Amen.
Thank you
Dear Loving and Compassionate God, Giver of all gifts, we pray especially today for the mercy and love You give us. Open our hearts and minds to You. Give us the grace to accept your mercy. As we live each day, we pray for those less fortunate, especially those who are hurting, and whose wounds need to be healed. Help us become involved in ways that show them how deeply we care. Give us the personal courage to listen to their concerns and help them find the solutions to which they are entitled as Your children and our brothers and sisters.
Thank you, Dear Loving and Compassionate God, for all your blessings.
Amen.
For the Blessed Mother

Amen.
For Family and Friends
Blessed are You, loving Father, For all your gifts to us. Amen.
Thank you Lord Jesus
Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ, for all the benefits and blessings which you have given me, for all the pains and insults which you have borne for me. Merciful Friend, Brother and Redeemer, may I know you more clearly, love you more dearly, and follow you more nearly, day by day.
Amen.
God Our Great Hope

To Our Mother of Perpetual Help
Oh, Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke your powerful name, which is the safe guard of the living and the salvation of the dying. Oh, Purest Mary, Oh Sweetest Mary let thy name be ever on my lips. Delay not, Blessed Lady, to help me whenever I call on thee. For in all my needs and all my temptations, I shall never cease to call on thee, ever repeating thy sacred name, Mary, Mary. Oh, what a consolation, what sweetness, what confidence what emotion fills my soul when ever I utter thy sacred name or even only think of thee. I thank the Lord for having given thee, for my good, so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name. But I will not be content with merely uttering thy name. Let my love for thee prompt me ever to hail thee Mother of Perpetual Help. Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for me.
To St. Joseph
O glorious Saint Joseph, tender-hearted father, faithful guardian and friend of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of God, I pray and beseech you to offer to God the Father his Divine Son, bathed in blood on the cross for sinners and through the thrice Holy name of Jesus, obtain for us of the eternal Father, the favor we implore . . . (Pause) . . . Appease the diving anger so justly inflamed by our crimes beg of Jesus mercy for thy children amid the splendors of eternity forget not the sorrows of those who suffer, those who pray, those who weep. Stay the Almighty arm that smites us that by thy prayers and those of thy most holy spouse, the Heart of Jesus may be moved to pity and to pardon.
Amen.
Dear St. Joseph protect us this day, keep us safe from the dangers of life.
To St. Anthony
O holy St. Anthony, gentlest of saints, your love for God and charity for his creatures made you worthy while on earth to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me (State your intention). The answer to my prayer may require a miracle; even so, you are the saint of miracles. O gentle and loving Saint, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms, and the gratitude of my heart will always be yours. St. Anthony, pray for us.

Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you, and I detest all my sins, because of Your just punishments, but most of all because they offend You, my God, who are all-good and deserving of all my love. Amen.

(Mention your needs here…) And you, my powerful patron, intercede for me before the throne of God. Draw near to that throne and do not leave it until you have been heard. O good saint, to you I address my fervent prayers; graciously accept them and let me experience in some way the effects of your powerful intercession.

For a Happy Death
To St. Benedict
O holy Father, St. Benedict, blessed by God both in grace and in name, who, while standing in prayer, with hands raised to heaven, didst most happily yield your angelic spirit into the hands of your Creator, and has promised zealously to defend against all the snares of the enemy in the last struggle of death, those who shall daily remind you of thy glorious departure and heavenly joys; protect me, I beseech thee, O glorious Father, this day and every day, by your holy blessings, that I may never be separated from our dear Lord, from the society of yourself, and of all the blessed. Through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.
To Our Lord and Savior
O my Lord and Savior, support me in my last hour by the strong arms of Thy sacraments and the fragrance of thy consolations. Let Thy absolving words be said over me, and the holy oil sign and seal me; and let Thine own body be my food and Thy blood my sprinkling; and let Thy Mother Mary come to me, and my angel whisper peace to me, and Thy glorious saints and my own dear patrons smile on me, that in and through them all I may die as I desire to live, in Thy Church, in Thy faith, and in Thy love.
Amen.
To the Blessed Mother
Dearest Lady, sweet Mother mine, watch the hour when my departing soul shall lose its hold on all earthly things, and stand unveiled in the presence of its Creator. Show thyself my tender Mother then, and offer to the Eternal Father the precious blood of thy Son Jesus for my poor soul, that it may, thus purified, by pleasing in His sight. Plead for thy poor child at the moment of my departure from this world, and say to the heavenly Father: Receive him (her) this day into Thy kingdom!
Amen.
Virgin Mary
Through your help I hope to die a happy death. O my Mother I beg you, by the love you bear my God, to help me at all times, but especially at the last moment of my life. Do not leave me, I beseech you, until you see me safe in Heaven, blessing you and singing your mercies for all eternity.
Amen, so I hope, so may it be.
To the Holy Family
Grant unto us, Lord Jesus, ever to follow the example of Thy holy Family, that in the hour of our death Thy glorious Virgin Mother together with blessed Joseph may come to meet us and we may be worthily received by Thee into everlasting dwellings: Who livest and reignest world without end.
Amen.
To St. Joseph
O Glorious St. Joseph, behold I choose thee today for my special patron in life and at the hour of my death. Preserve and increase in me the spirit of prayer and fervor in the service of God. Remove far from me every kind of sin; obtain for me that my death may not come upon me unawares, but that I may have time to confess my sins sacramentally and to bewail them with a most perfect understanding and a most sincere and perfect contrition, in order that I may breathe forth my soul into the hands of Jesus and Mary.
Amen.
To Blessed St. Joseph
O BLESSED JOSEPH, who yielded up thy last breath in the arms of Jesus and Mary, obtain for me this grace, O holy Joseph, that I may breathe forth my soul in praise, saying in spirit, if I am unable to do so in words:
“Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I give Thee my heart and my soul.”

that you ask of me
and to accept all
that you allow to happen to me.
Just show me what is your will.

St. Augustine Prayer
Breathe into me, Holy Spirit,
that my thoughts may all be holy.
Move in me, Holy Spirit,
that my work, too, may be holy.

that I may love only what is holy.
Strengthen me, Holy Spirit,
that I may defend all that is holy.
Protect me, Holy Spirit,
that I may always be holy. Amen.
Evening Prayer to the Holy Spirit
O Holy Spirit, most merciful Comforter: You proceed from the Father in a manner beyond our understanding. Come, I beseech You, and take up your abode in my heart. Purify and cleanse me from all sin, and sanctify my soul. Cleanse it from every impurity, water its dryness, melt its coldness, and save it from its sinful ways. Make me truly humble and resigned, that I may be pleasing to You, and that You might abide with me forever. Most Blessed Light, most Amiable Light, enlighten me. O Rapturous Joy of Paradise, Fount of Purest Delight, My God, give yourself to me and kindle in my innermost soul the fire of Your love. My Lord, instruct, direct, and defend me in all things. Give me strength against all immoderate fears and against despondency. Bestow upon me a true faith, a firm hope, and a sincere and a perfect love. Grant that I always do Thy Most Gracious Will.
Amen.
For the Seven Gifts of the Spirit
O Lord Jesus Christ, Who,
Before ascending into heaven,
Did promise to send the Holy Ghost
To finish Your work in the souls
Of Your Apostles and Disciples,
Deign to grant the same Holy Spirit to me,
That He may perfect in my soul
They work of Your grace and Your love.
Grant me the Spirit of Wisdom
That I may despise the perishable things of this
World and aspire only after the things that are
Eternal,
The Spirit of Understanding to enlighten my
Mind with the light of Your divine truth,
The Spirit of Counsel that I may ever choose the
Surest way of pleasing God and gaining Heaven,
The Spirit of Fortitude that I may bear my cross
With You, and that I may overcome with
Courage all the obstacles that oppose my
Salvation,
The Spirit of Knowledge
That I may know God and know myself and grow
Perfect in the science of the Saints,
The Spirit of Piety that I may find the service
Of God sweet and amiable,
The Spirit of Fear that I may be filled with a
Loving reverence towards God, and may
Dread in any way to displease Him.
Mark me, dear Lord, with the sign of
Your true disciples and animate me in all things
With your Spirit.
Amen
Angels
To Your Guardian Angel
Angel of God, my Guardian dear, to whom His love commits me here, ever this day (or night) be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide.
Amen.
Mothers Prayer to her child’s or children’s Guardian Angels
I humbly salute you, O you faithful, heavenly Friends of my children! I give you heartfelt thanks for all the love and goodness you show them. At some future day I shall, with thanks more worthy than I can now give, repay your care for them, and before the whole heavenly court acknowledge their indebtedness to your guidance and protection. Continue to watch over them. Provide for all their needs of body and soul. Pray, likewise, for me, for my husband, and my whole family, that we may all one day rejoice in your blessed company.
Amen.
To our Holy Guardian Angels
Heavenly Father, Your infinite love for us has chosen a blessed angel in heaven and appointed him our guide during this earthly pilgrimage. Accept our thanks for so great a blessing. Grant that we may experience the assistance of our holy protector in all our necessities. And you, holy, loving angel and guide, watch over us with all the tenderness of your angelic heart. Keep us always on the way that leads to heaven, and cease not to pray for us until we have attained our final destiny, eternal salvation. Then we shall love you for all eternity. We shall praise and glorify you unceasingly for all the good you have done for us while here on earth. Especially be a faithful and watchful protector of our children. Take our place, and supply what may be wanting to us through human frailty, short-sightedness, or sinful neglect. Lighten, O you perfect servants of God, our heavy task. Guide our children, that they may become like unto Jesus, may imitate Him faithfully, and persevere till they attain eternal life.
Amen.
To our Guardian Angel
My good Angel, Thou comest from heaven; God has sent thee to take care of me. Oh, shelter me under thy wings. Lighten my path, direct my steps. Do not leave me, stay quite near me and defend me against the spirit of evil. But above all come to my help in the last struggle of my life. Deliver my soul so that with thee it may praise, love and contemplate the goodness of God forever and ever.
Amen.
To St. Michael the Archangel
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
For Those who have Died
For the Deceased
God our Father, Your power brings us to birth, Your providence guides our lives, and by Your command we return to dust. Lord, those who die still live in Your presence, their lives change but do not end. I pray in hope for my family, relatives and friends, and for all the dead known to You alone. In company with Christ, Who died and now lives, may they rejoice in Your kingdom, where all our tears are wiped away. Unite us together again in one family, to sing Your praise forever and ever.
Amen.
My God! I recommend to Thee the souls of my relations, my benefactors, my friends and my enemies, and of those who are in Purgatory on my account. I recommend to Thee the souls of evangelical laborers, of Religious and priests, and especially of those who had charge of my soul. I recommend to Thee the souls of those who were most devout to the passion of Our Lord, to the Blessed Sacrament, to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the souls who are most abandoned, those who suffer most, and those who are nearest to the entrance into paradise.
Amen.
Traditional
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.
Amen.
For Your Parents
O God, Who has commanded us to honor our father and mother, have compassion in Thy mercy, on the souls of my father and mother; forgive them their sins, and grant that I may see them in the joy of eternal brightness, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
For the Dead
In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters. In this life you embraced them with your tender love; deliver them now from every evil and bid them eternal rest.
The old order has passed away: welcome them into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
Amen.
Souls in Purgatory
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family.
Amen.
Heavenly Father, in union with the merits of Jesus and Mary, I offer to You for the sake of the poor souls all the satisfactory value of my works during life, as well as all that will be done for me after death. I give You my all through the hands of the Immaculate Virgin Mary that she may set free whatever souls she pleases, according to her heavenly wisdom and mother’s love for them. Receive this offering, O God, and grant me in return an increase of Your grace.
Amen.
Souls in Need
O Lord, who art ever merciful and bounteous with Thy gifts, look down upon the suffering souls in purgatory. Remember not their offenses and negligence’s, but be mindful of Thy loving mercy, which is from all eternity. Cleanse them of their sins and fulfill their ardent desires that they may be made worthy to behold Thee face to face in Thy glory. May they soon be united with Thee and hear those blessed words which will call them to their heavenly home: “Come, blessed of My Father, take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”
Amen.
Grief
Suffering a Loss
Dearest Jesus, who wept at the death of your friend
And taught that they who mourn shall be comforted,
Grant us the comfort of your presence in our loss.
Send Your Holy Spirit to direct us
Lest we make hasty or foolish decisions.
Send Your Spirit to give us courage
Lest through fear we recoil from living
Send Your Spirit to bring us your peace
Lest bitterness, false guilt, or regret take root in our hearts.
The Lord has given.
The Lord has taken away.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Amen.
The Blessed Virgin’s Intercession
O sweet mother Mary,
Who knew the sadness of mourning those your heart loved most,
Jesus, your Son,
And Joseph, your devoted spouse. Pray for us in our time of loss.
Amen
Additional Blessed Virgin’s Intercession
O sweet mother Mary,
Like us you experienced the sadness of mourning those closest to your heart,
Your beloved Son Jesus,
Your devoted spouse, St. Joseph
And your mother and father Saints Ann and Joachim.
Pray for us in our time of loss.
Amen
For those who lost a baby through miscarriage
Why, my Lord—dare I ask why? It will not hear the whisper of the wind or see the beauty of its parents’ face—it will not see the beauty of Your creation or the flame of a sunrise. Why, my Lord?
“Why, My child—do you ask ‘why’? Well, I will tell you why.
You see, the child lives. Instead of the wind he hears the sound of angels singing before My throne. Instead of the beauty that passes he sees everlasting Beauty—he sees My face. He was created and lived a short time so the image of his parents imprinted on his face may stand before Me as their personal intercessor. He knows secrets of heaven unknown to men on earth. He laughs with a special joy that only the innocent possess. My ways are not the ways of man. I create for My Kingdom and each creature fills a place in that Kingdom that could not be filled by another. He was created for My joy and his parents’ merits. He has never seen pain or sin. He has never felt hunger or pain. I breathed a soul into a seed, made it grow and called it forth.”
I am humbled before you, my Lord, for questioning Your wisdom, goodness, and love. I speak as a fool—forgive me. I acknowledge Your sovereign rights over life and death. I thank You for the life that began for so short a time to enjoy so long an Eternity. Amen.
Miscarriage
Dearest Mother Mary, who knew the joy of holding Baby Jesus, please help me in this time of sadness and distress. Send your Infant to hug and console me and my loved ones. Intercede for us, asking God to grant us the understanding and knowledge of our little one’s great joy and happiness in heaven. We know that we will one day be reunited with our blessed baby and we also know he/she is happily with our deceased family members. We miss our baby desperately. Like us he/ she is a member of the communion of saints and angels. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Now our child is adoring and rejoicing with Our Lord and Savior, and praying for our peace and tranquility awaiting the day we join him/her in heaven.
Mary, Mother of God, we place our hopes, fears and sadness in your hands. Pray for us now and always.
Amen
Pray in time of Sorrow
God of all consolation,
in your unending love and mercy for us,
you turn the darkness of death into the dawn of new life.
Show compassion to your people in sorrow.
Be our refuge and our strength to lift us
from the darkness of this grief
to peace and joy in your presence.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
Amen
In Time of Grief
O come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
Prayer written by Fr, Robert Fox – to Give Comfort
God of life and death, You have taken a beloved one from me. My heart is very heavy. I recall that Your Son, Jesus Christ, became man in all things except sin and that He groaned in sorrow at the death of His friend, Lazarus. I unite my grief with Yours dear Jesus, as You stood at the tomb of Lazarus.
O Virgin Mother, you know what it was like losing your husband Joseph, and then your child, dying suspended between earth and heaven, with a sword piercing your sweet soul. To you do I come in sorrow, begging strength from your intercession, from you who fully understand what it is like to lose one so dear and close.
Share with me, dear Mother of God, the courage, the strong faith that you had in the future resurrection. Even after Jesus came back to life and ascended into heaven, you knew you were to be left alone for many years before your own assumption into heaven. You comforted the Apostles as their Queen and Mother during those years. Grant comfort to me now as I sorrow in pain at the loss by the separation that has come as a result of the sin of our first parents and my own sins. Wipe away my tears with the merciful love of your Immaculate Heart as you unite me with my loved one through the grace of the Sacred Heart of your Son Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Prayer After the Death of a Child
My life is upside down, loving God. The order of the world is out of place and I can’t do anything to right it again. Oh, Lord, you know the pain in my heart at all times and you know why: my child has died. How can it be that my beloved child is gone? The child I cared for with such concern in every illness, the one I held close to my heart and promised to take care of for a lifetime, is not here for me to care for anymore. It hurts deeply that I wasn’t able to protect this child I love with my whole being from a death that seems so unfair.
Let me feel calm. Let me breathe deeply. Be with me in this kind of deep and transformative pain. I now carry this darkness with me on my back and in my heart, always. It is my burden and my companion.
Lord, there is not a single minute of my life when this loss is not etched so keenly into my brain and heart, whether it is in the middle of a busy day or in those choking moments of grief in the solitary dark of night. Let me be grateful for every minute we had together. Let me treasure those memories and find joy in them.
Help me to deal with people better. They don’t know what to say. They stumble and look away when they see me. They pretend nothing has happened. I know they “don’t want to remind me” but they don’t understand it is with me always, always.
Teach me, Lord. Tell me what you want me to do with this. What am I supposed to learn from this kind of pain? What are you calling me to do?
Open my battered heart and lead me to comfort and peace. Only you can give me the peace I need. Let me feel your presence in my life.
Amen
For a Mother who has died
Dear Lord, relying on your promises to us, I turn to you in trust that my mother is with you and that she is enjoying your loving embrace. You alone know how she loved the best she could and how she faithfully endured the struggles that she faced. You know the graces you gave her and you know the grace she was for me and for so many. For all the ways she truly loved the way you loved her, please reward her, Lord. May she enjoy the communion of all her family and friends who are with you.
Lord, I know my mother still loves us who are still here on earth. I ask you that you might listen to her fervent prayers for us. Help me to grow into a new and deeper relationship with my mother now, as I long for the day when we will both meet in your embrace – freed from all that might have hindered our relationship on earth, knowing and understanding everything we did not know or understand on this earth.
I ask you this with faith in the resurrection, trusting my mother’s love, and desiring that she knows my love for her.
Amen.
Gratitude for my Mother
Dear Lord, today I turn to you to give you thanks for my mother. With your own gift of life, she bore me in her womb and gave me life. She tenderly, patiently cared for me and taught me to walk and talk. She read to me and made me laugh. No one delighted in my successes more; no one could comfort me better in my failures. I am so grateful for how she mothered me and mentored me, and even disciplined me. Thank you Dear Lord for the gift of Mom.
Please inspire me to follower her in faith. Count her among the saints in heaven and give me the understanding and wisdom to know that she is in heaven praying for me still. Let me rejoice in her victory over sin and death and comfort me in my time of mourning.
Glory be to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and every shall be world without end, Amen.
For a Father who has died
Father of Life, I thank you for my father. He was such a blessing to me while he was still with us. I still miss him so much. I thank you for what he left me as gifts of love and faith. I pray that he has enjoyed your embrace and that the relationship he and I have now might someday be renewed with you in heaven. Until then, I entrust him to your love and ask you to let him look out for me and to assist me to stay on the path to you. Amen.
In Gratitude for my Husband
Dear God, I thank you for my husband. I thank you for letting this man come into and complete my life. I delighted in making him happy and caring for him. I am so grateful for how he loved me and cared for me. You know that there are days that we got on each other’s nerves, but I’m so grateful that he was my husband.
Please inspire me to follower him in faith. Count him among the saints in heaven and give me the understanding and wisdom to know that he is in heaven praying for me still. Let me rejoice in his victory over sin and death and comfort me in my time of mourning.
Glory be to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and every shall be world without end, Amen.

Scripture Reflection
“Take courage, it is I. Do not be afraid,” Matthew 14:27
Take courage. You are inviting us to take on your courage. We don’t understand what has happened. We have no words. We know only that we turn to you and ask for courage and you offer it.
It is I. I am with you always. Yes. We take a deep breath and feel your presence. You are with each of us right now and with us as a community of faith. It doesn’t help us to understand but it helps us to calm our breathing.
Do not be afraid. Dear Jesus, right now it feels like that is all we have to cling to! The panic may return our bewilderment and uncertainty. But yet, your invitation is clear: Do not be afraid. That is for me, for all of us.
Dear Jesus, who understood fear and confusion so well, bless us in our great hour of loss and need. Be with us as we gather to weep and mourn at your altar. We beg you for the courage to delve into the silence, the wisdom to speak at the right time, and the fidelity to remember that you are with us in this great hour of need.
Amen.
For Students and Schools
St. Joseph of Cupertino
O Great St. Joseph of Cupertino who while on earth did obtain from God the grace to be asked at your examination only the questions you knew, obtain for me a like favor in the examinations for which I am now preparing. Through Christ our Lord. St. Joseph of Cupertino, Pray for us.

Student’s Prayer
(By St. Thomas Aquinas) Creator of all things, true source of light and wisdom, origin of all being, graciously let a ray of your light penetrate the darkness of my understanding. Take from me the double darkness in which I have been born, an obscurity of sin and ignorance. Give me a keen understanding, a retentive memory, and the ability to grasp things correctly and fundamentally. Grant me the talent of being exact in my explanations and the ability to express myself with thoroughness and charm. Point out the beginning, direct the progress, and help in the completion. I ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
For Career
Loving Father, I stand before You in the midst of confusion and complexities of life. My future sometimes seems distant and unknown. Give me, O Lord, the vision to see the path You set before me. Grant me the courage to follow Your way, that through the gifts and talents You have given me, I may bring Your life and Your love to others. I ask this through Jesus, Your Son and my Brother.
Amen.
Immaculate Conception
Under thy patronage, dear Mother, and calling on the mystery of thine Immaculate Conception, I desire to pursue my studies and my literary labors: I hereby solemnly declare that I am giving myself to these studies chiefly to the following end: that I may the better contribute to the glory of God and to the promotion of thy veneration among men. I pray thee, therefore, most loving Mother, who art the Seat of Wisdom, to bless my labors in thy loving-kindness. Moreover I promise with true affection and a willing spirit, as it is right that I should do, to ascribe all the good that shall come to me therefrom, wholly to thine intercession for me in God’s holy presence.
Amen.
Before Class or Studying
Incomprehensible Creator, the true Fountain of light and only Author of all knowledge: deign, we beseech Thee, to enlighten our understanding, and to remove from us all darkness of sin and ignorance. Thou, who makest eloquent the tongues of those who lack utterance, direct our tongues, and pour on our lips the grace of thy blessing. Give us a diligent and obedient spirit, quickness of apprehension, capacity of retaining, and the powerful assistance of Thy holy grace; that what we hear or learn we may apply to Thy honor and the eternal salvation of our own souls.
Amen.
For Catholic Schools
O Christ, our Teacher, You invite Your faithful people to make disciples in Your name and to announce good news to the poor. We thank You for the gift of Catholic schools, where the message of Your life, death, and resurrection is proclaimed, Christian community is experienced, Service to our brothers and sisters is modeled, And worship of You is cultivated.
Increase our zeal for ensuring that all children and families can benefit from a high quality Catholic education, and that Catholic schools grow in their ability to nurture the soul of our nation. We ask this through the intercession of Our Lady, Mother of Catholic Schools.
Amen.
Prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas for Schools
Saint Thomas Aquinas, you are called by Holy Mother Church, the Angel of the Schools. Your wisdom, gathered through long meditation from the source of all wisdom, the most holy Trinity, has long been a shining light in the Catholic Church. Ignorance of the things of God is a darkness now enveloping the minds of many of our countrymen. In this darkness, we need an angel like you who will protect, foster, and nourish the schools we have, and guide and strengthen us in establishing and building newer and more adequate schools for the instruction of our children in the ways of Christ. Help and bless the generous sisters, brothers, and priests who labor so unselfishly in the classroom to spread the knowledge of Christ. Inspire our Catholic men and women to be most generous in the support of the schools we have. Grant to parents the wise generosity they need to give their child back to God when that child wishes to follow a priestly or religious vocation. Help us, Saint Thomas, Angel of the Schools, to understand what you taught, and to follow your example.
Amen.
For Marriages
A Marriage Blessing Prayer
We thank you, O God, for the Love You have implanted in our hearts. May it always inspire us to be kind in our words, considerate of feeling, and concerned for each other’s needs and wishes. Help us to be understanding and forgiving of human weaknesses and failings. Increase our faith and trust in You and may Your Prudence guide our life and love. Bless our Marriage O God, with Peace and Happiness, and make our love fruitful for Your glory and our Joy both here and in eternity.
Amen.
Prayer in Defense of Marriage
God our Father, we give you thanks for the gift of marriage:
the bond of life and love, and the font of the family.
The love of husband and wife enriches your Church with children, fills the world with a multitude of spiritual fruitfulness and service, and is the sign of the love of your Son, Jesus Christ, for his Church.
The grace of Jesus flowed forth at Cana at the request of the Blessed Mother. May your Son, through the intercession of Mary, pour out upon us a new measure of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit as we join with all people of good will to promote and protect the unique beauty of marriage.
May your Holy Spirit enlighten our society to treasure the heroic love of husband and wife, and guide our leaders to sustain and protect the singular place of mothers and fathers in the lives of their children.
Father, we ask that our prayers be joined to those of the Virgin Mary, that your Word may transform our service so as to safeguard the incomparable splendor of marriage. We ask all these things through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Saints Joachim and Anne, pray for us.
For Employment
God the Father
God, our Father, I turn to you seeking your divine help and guidance as I look for suitable employment. I need your wisdom to guide my footsteps along the right path, and to lead me to find the proper things to say and do in this quest. I wish to use the gifts and talents you have given me, but I need the opportunity to do so with gainful employment. Do not abandon me, dear Father, in this search, but rather grant me this favor I seek so that I may return to you with praise and thanksgiving for your gracious assistance. Grant this through Christ, our Lord. Amen
Written By St. John Paul II
Bless, 0 Lord of the centuries and the millennia, the daily work by which men and women provide bread for themselves and their loved ones. We also offer to your fatherly hands the toil and sacrifices associated with work, in union with your Son Jesus Christ, who redeemed human work from the yoke of sin and restored it to its original dignity. Amen.
For Job Seekers
Gracious and loving God, you know our need for meaningful work. Send your Holy Spirit to guide those who are searching for employment. Help them to recognize the gifts and talents you have given them.

Shower on them the graces they need to persevere. Let this time of searching become an opportunity to grow in faith, to cultivate the virtue of hope, and to experience your healing love. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
To Find A Job
Loving God, you speak to us through all of life. Help me to trust you and to trust that what you desire for me lies in the deepest part of my heart. And, what you desire is that which allows me to grow and to be the person you created me to be – fully human and fully alive. May I always center my life on you and hear joyfully your call to be your companion. Help me to follow my desire to live my life as best I can and to serve others with the special gifts you have given me. I place my career in your hands, Amen.
For Employment
You govern your creation, O God, and bring it to perfection by the work of our hands. Hear the prayers of your people who ask for work that will enhance their human dignity and promote the upbuilding of your kingdom. Enable them to provide for those confided to their care either by family ties or by charity we owe to one another for the betterment of human life. We ask this blessing in the name of Jesus who labored with his own hands while he lived on earth.

Amen.
For College Students
Praise and Worship
Dear Lord, as I continue in this new college life help me never to forget to devote time of praise and worship to You. I know that you are the One who sustains me and the least I can do for everything that You have done for me is to dedicate time to You. Help me to know that renewing my mind in You is a necessary part of my life. Nudge me out of bed on Sunday and if there is a good mid-week service please make it so I can go to that too. Send new friends my way that are like-minded Christians who will attend services with me and hold me accountable when I am absent. I love you Lord and I want to praise and worship You. In Jesus’ name, Amen
For your Instructors and Administrators
Dear Lord, I pray for all of my Instructors, Professors and Administrators. As we are told in the Bible, as a student (disciple) our teachers are above us and as we grow and learn we strive to be like our teacher. Please give them the wisdom, strength and courage to be the best instructor and administrator that they can be. Help them to stay healthy as they do well to teach us. Lord, if they do not know you as personal Savior, I pray that they come to know you and in doing so that their instruction and work is glorifying to You. I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.
For Time Management
Heavenly Father I pray that you will give me the guidance that I need to have fun while still maintaining a schedule of proper study and needed rest. Help me to know that sometimes I need to “bow out” of a particular social event in order to meet the needs of academic success. Protect me as I seek your help in scheduling time for everything. I love you Father and pray this in Jesus name, Amen.
For Test/Quizzes/Exams
Dear God, I have learned so much and right now I just ask that you help me to remember all of those things. Please bring them quickly to mind so that I may successfully pass my tests today. Help also my classmates who are studying for exams, that they might have great success. I know that our success will glorify you Lord because everything that we do should be done as unto You. I pray for peace as I sit for the exams and I know that peace comes only from You. Thank you for listening to my prayer and I pray this in Your Son’s name, Amen.
For Home Visits
Dear God, I so enjoy my independence while away at college. As I plan a trip home for a visit please help me to honor my parents as I obey the house rules that they have. I know that the rules are there for my own good. Help me to show that while I have gained independence during my time away that I understand that it is their house so I must obey their rules. Lord, I think this might be hard for me but I know that You will guide me and gently remind me of the honor that is due to my parents while I am in their house. Please grant me my desire dear Lord, In Jesus name, Amen.
Relationships
Dear Lord, I come to you because I want to be sure that I am keeping company with this right people. God I know that relationships require careful cultivation and attention. Help me to be friendly to others and to welcome them into my world. Help me to shine the light of Jesus to them so that they too can see how happy I am in You. Remind me that sometimes I need to ask forgiveness when I have offended others. Help me to be forgiving when others have offended me. God I want to be a great example of Christianity to everyone I meet. I pray that you will help me never to forget that I must take time to work on relationships … just like a garden, for them to grow I must be devoted to them. I pray in Jesus name, Amen.
Purity in Thought, Word and Deed
Dear Precious Father, as I learn to live independently outside of the boundaries that were set for me at home, please help me to make good choices that will keep my thoughts, words and deeds pure. I want to honor You with my choices. As I choose how I spend my time remind me that You are always with me and that my choices should be things that please You. Help me to stay away from the things that will temp me to do the things that I know are not edifying to You. Remind me that it is my choice and that I can talk to You any time that I am having troubling making good choices. Keep me in the company of others that have a good walk with You so that I too can have a good walk. I know you will guide me and for this I am so thankful. I know Your wisdom is pure, help me to desire only Your wisdom. I pray this through Jesus.
Amen.
For Studying
Lord, I cannot believe how much time I waste. Please help me be more intense about my studies. I really am interested in the things that the professor says in class.
But when I finally sit down to study, I welcome distractions from studying so easily. You have given me a good mind, and you want me to explore your creation. Give me enthusiasm, Lord, for the subjects I am studying.
Keep my eyes open and my mind on topic. Help me learn the material so that I can explain it clearly and convincingly to others, especially my friends.
Jesus, you must have spent a lot of time reflecting on life to think of the parables that are recorded in the Gospels.
Make me a good, critical thinker and help me to express myself clearly. Help me to use my mind for your greater Glory.
Amen.
For Exams and Tests
O Great St. Joseph of Cupertino who while on earth did obtain from God the grace to be asked at your examination only the questions you knew, obtain for me a like favor in the examinations for which I am now preparing. In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked. Through Christ our Lord. St. Joseph of Cupertino, Pray for us.
Amen.
For Patience
In time of Adversity
O God, who did crush the pride of the enemy by the long-suffering of your Only-begotten Son: grant, we beseech you, that we may worthily recall those things which in His tender love He bore for us; and thus following His example may patiently endure all our adversities. Amen.
When in Danger of Losing Your Temper
Teach me, my Lord, to be sweet and gentle in all the events of my life, in disappointments, in the thoughtlessness of others, in the insincerity of those I trusted, in the unfaithfulness of those on whom I relied. Let me forget myself so that I may enjoy the happiness of others. Let me always hide my little pains and heartaches so that I may be the only one to suffer from them. Teach me to profit by the suffering that comes across my path. Let me so use it that it may mellow me, not harden or embitter me; that it may make me patient, not irritable; that it may make me broad in my forgiveness, not narrow or proud or overbearing. May no one be less good for having come within my influence; no one less pure, less true, less kind, less noble, for having been a fellow traveler with me on our journey towards eternal life. As I meet with one cross after another, let me whisper a word of love to You. May my life be lived in the supernatural, full of power for good, and strong in its purpose of sanctity. Amen.
Quick Prayer
My dearest Jesus, teach me to be patient, when all day long my heart is troubled by little, but troublesome crosses. Amen.
For the Virtue of Patience
Patience is a virtue of the Lord: He awaits the return of His children. Forgive my trespasses Oh Lord Jesus, For many times have I tested You. I deserved the wrath of Your hand, But You saw greater things for me: Your patience has been enormous! Grant me a droplet of such endurance, That I may abolish my impious impatience, Refraining from using unpleasant words, And always reflecting Your serenity. Great is the Lord Jesus in His ways! Amen.
Family Patience
May the God of all patience and consolation grant to all the members of our family that they may live in perfect harmony with one another. With one heart, may we give glory to God our father and to Jesus Christ our brother, in the unity and love of the Holy spirit.
Amen.
Patience in Accepting God’s Will
Lord, teach me to be patient – with life, with people, and with myself. I sometimes try to hurry things along too much, and I push for answers before the time is right. Teach me to trust Your sense of timing rather than my own and to surrender my will to Your greater and wiser plan. Help me let life unfold slowly, like the small rosebud whose petals unravel bit by bit, and remind me that in hurrying the bloom along, I destroy the bud and much of the beauty therein. Instead, let me wait for all to unfold in its own time. Each moment and state of growth contains a loveliness. Teach me to slow down enough to appreciate life and all it holds.
Amen.
Prayer For Patience
Lord, thank You for the stillness When I can relax before You And lay my impatience with other people Smooth the furrows from my brow The lines from my face, The frustrations from my heart The heavy loads from my mind The searing irritations from my soul. I ask for the graciousness of patience The ability to relax when I must wait. May a quiet heart and mind attend to me. Make straight my path. Wrest every short temper With a sense of humor.
Amen.
Bible Inspiration: Proverbs 14:29 The patient man shows much good sense but the quick-tempered man displays folly at its height.
Prayer for Patience and Understanding
Dear Lord, please help me. I lay before you my tiredness and ask for new energy. I lay before you my frustration and ask for more patience. I lay before you my resentment and ask for peace. I lay before you my judgement and ask for inspired understanding. I lay before you my anger and long to be forgiving. Amen.

O Master and holy God, who are beyond our understanding: at your word, light came forth out of darkness. In your mercy, you gave us rest through night-long sleep, and raised us up to glorify your goodness and to offer our supplication to You. Now, in your own tender love, accept us who adore You and give thanks to You with all our heart. Grant us all our requests, if they lead to salvation; give us the grace of manifesting that we are children of light and day, and heirs to your eternal reward. In the abundance of your mercies, O Lord, remember all your people; all those present who pray with us; all our brethren on land, at sea, or in the air, in every place of Your domain, who call upon your love for mankind. Upon all, pour down your great mercy, that we, saved in body and in soul, may persevere unfailingly; and that, in our confidence, we may extol your exalted and blessed Name, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, always, now and forever.
Amen.

Evening Prayers
The Family Night Prayer
The night is falling dear Mother, the long day is o’er,
Before thy loved image, I am kneeling once more.
To thank thee for keeping me safe through the day,
To ask thee this night to keep evil away.
Many times have I fallen today Mother dear,
Many graces neglected since last I knelt here.
Oh wilt thou have mercy my own Mother mild,
Ask Jesus to pardon the sins of thy child.
I am going to rest, for the day’s work is done,
It’s hours and its moments have passed one by one.
And the God who will judge me has noted them all,
He has listed each deed and numbered each fall.
In His book they are written against the last day,
Oh Mother, please ask Him to wash them away.
For one drop of His blood, which for sinners was spilt,
Is sufficient to wash the whole world from its guilt.
And if near the dawn I should draw my last breath,
And the sleep that I take be the long sleep of death.
Be with me dear Mother for Dear Jesus sake,
When my soul in eternity sure shall awake.
Amen

Return of Lapsed Catholics to the Sacraments
Almighty Father, You desire not the death of the sinner, but that he may be converted and live. Pour out upon us Your mercy and hear the prayers of Your servants. Soften the hearts of Your children who have strayed from the true path which You established for their salvation. They are now forgetful of their duties as Catholics, and pursue the pleasures of the world. Grant that they may quickly return to the practice of every Christian virtue, so that their lives may shine with the integrity of faith, the fervor of piety, and the ardor of charity. Restore them all to Your sacraments and the life of Your grace, through the merits of the most precious blood of Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ.

Communion Prayers
During the Consecration
(said by one of the Prayer Warriors from his First Communion in 1924 to his death in 2017)
My Lord and my God who died on the cross for my salvation here present on this alter devoutly I adore thee.
Precious Blood of Jesus who died on the cross for my salvation here present on this alter devoutly I adore thee.
Prayer Before the Crucifix
Look down upon me good and gentle Jesus while before Your face I humbly kneel and, with burning soul, pray and beseech You to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope, and charity; true contrition for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment. While I contemplate, with great love and tender pity, Your five most precious wounds, pondering over them within me and calling to the words which David, Your prophet, said to You, my Jesus: “They have pierced My hands and My feet, they have numbered all My bones.”
Amen.
The Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, sanctify me Body of Christ, save me Blood of Christ, inebriate me Water from Christ’s side, wash me Passion of Christ, strengthen me O good Jesus, hear me Within Thy wounds hide me Suffer me not to be separated from Thee From the malicious enemy defend me In the hour of my death call me And bid me come unto Thee That I may praise Thee with Thy saints and with Thy angels Forever and ever.
Amen
Prayer of St. John Vianney
“I love You, O my God, and my only desire is to love You until the last breath of my life. I love You, O my infinitely lovable God, and I would rather die loving You, than live without loving You. I love You, Lord and the only grace I ask is to love You eternally. My God, if my tongue cannot say in every moment that I love You, I want my heart to repeat it to You as often as I draw breath.” Amen.
Thanksgiving
What has passed our lips as food, O Lord, may we possess in purity of heart, that what is given to us in time, be our healing for eternity. May Your Body, O Lord, which I have eaten, and Your Blood which I have drunk, cleave to my very soul, and grant that no trace of sin be found in me, whom these pure and holy mysteries have renewed. Who live and reign, world without end. Amen. We humbly beseech You, Almighty God, to grant that those whom You refresh with Your sacraments, may serve you worthily by a life well pleasing to You. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns, world without end. Amen.
For Pardon and Salvation
I give Thee thanks, O holy Lord, Father Almighty, Eternal God, Who nourish me, a sinner, and Thine unworthy servant, with the precious Body and Blood of Thy Son, our Lord Christ. I had no merits, no deserts which I could put forward in my own behalf. But let not this holy Communion, I pray Thee, turn to my judgment and condemnation: let it rather obtain for me pardon and salvation. Let it cleanse me from all my vices; let it destroy all my concupiscence’s and desires. Let it increase my charity, my patience, my humility, my obedience. Let it defend me from all my enemies, visible and invisible. Let it appease all the evil propensities of my mind and body; and guide me so straight to Thee, my true and only God, that I may look forward to Thee as the happy goal of all my endeavors. Thus lead me, I pray Thee, to that unspeakable festival, when Thou, and Thy Son, and the Holy Ghost, will be to me and all the Saints, the complete fullness, the end of hope, the everlasting joy, and the never-changing happiness: through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Most Precious Blood
Prayer to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus
Father in heaven, may we all be cleansed by the saving Blood of Jesus; may our consciences be purged of dead works. Scripture says that evil is defeated by the Blood of the Lamb, so we ask that the Blood of Jesus cover all who are in need of protection – all civil, religious and lay leaders, our families, friends, enemies, all those for whom we promised to pray and for ourselves. We mark the borders of our nation and the doorposts of our churches, homes, schools and places of employment with the Precious Blood of Jesus. Also cover our vehicles that no one may ever be injured through them. Thank You, Lord, for shedding Your Blood for us. May the Water and Blood that came from the side of Jesus create a protecting fountain of grace, one which flows directly from the throne of God to us. Come Lord, and fill us with Your Holy Spirit.
Amen.
“O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus, Fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You.
O Precious Blood
O Precious Blood of Jesus, infinite price of sinful man’s redemption, both drink and laver of our souls, Thou who dost plead continually the cause of man before the throne of infinite mercy; from the depths of my heart, I adore Thee, and so far as I am able, I would requite Thee for the insults and outrages which Thou dost continually receive from human beings, and especially from those who rashly dare to blaspheme Thee. Who would not bless this Blood of infinite value? Who doth not feel within himself the fire of the love of Jesus who shed it all for us? What would be my fate, had I not been redeemed by this Divine Blood? Who hath drawn it from the veins of my Savior, even to the last drop? Ah, this surely was the work of love. O infinite love, which has given us this saving balm! O balm beyond all price, welling up from the fountain of infinite love, grant that every heart and every tongue may be enabled to praise Thee, magnify Thee and give Thee thanks both now and for evermore.
Amen.
A Powerful Prayer to be Said Before Praying
“Almighty Father, I place the Precious Blood of Jesus before my lips before I pray, that my prayers may be purified before they ascend to Your divine altar.” – St. Mary Magdalen de Pazzi
The “Constant” Prayer of St. Catherine of Siena
Precious Blood, ocean of divine mercy: Flow upon us! Precious Blood, most pure offering: Procure us every grace! Precious Blood, hope and refuge of sinners: Atone for us! Precious Blood, delight of holy souls: Draw us!
Amen.
Offering of the Precious Blood
“Eternal Father, I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ in atonement for my sins, and in supplication for the holy souls in Purgatory and for the needs of Holy Church.” – The Raccolta
When blessing yourself with Holy Water
By this Holy Water and by Your Precious Blood, Lord Jesus, wash away all my sins.
When entering or leaving your house
Precious Blood of Jesus, shed on the Cross for us, bless this house. Take it under Thy protection.
Precious Blood Prayer in Response to Requests from Our Lord
“Dear Jesus, moved by an impulse of love, and with purity of intention, I wish to cover my humble labors with Your merits and bathe them in the supernatural gold of Your Precious Blood. I desire to consecrate my life to the saving of souls and the extension of Your glory, and I beg the Heavenly Father for as many souls as You shed drops of Blood during Your Passion.” – Sr. Josefa Menendez
Pleading the Blood of Jesus
“Father in heaven, may we all be cleansed by the saving Blood of Jesus; may our consciences be purged of dead works. Sacred Heart of Jesus
Sacred Heart Of Jesus
O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with lively sorrow for my sins I offer you this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to your will. Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you. Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.
An Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
O sweet Jesus, Whose overflowing charity for me is requited by so much forgetfulness, negligence and contempt, behold us prostrate before Your alter (in Your presence) eager to repair by a special act of homage the cruel indifference and injuries, to which Your loving Heart is everywhere subject. Mindful alas! that we ourselves have had a share in such great indignities, which we now deplore from the depths of our hearts, we humbly ask Your pardon and declare our readiness to atone by voluntary expiation not only for our own personal offenses, but also for the sins of those, who, straying for from the path of salvation, refuse in their obstinate infidelity to follow You, their Shepherd and Leader, or, renouncing the vows of their baptism, have cast off the sweet yoke of Your Law. We are now resolved to expiate each and every deplorable outrage committed against You; we are determined to make amends for the manifold offenses against Christian modesty in unbecoming dress and behavior, for all the foul seductions laid to ensnare the feet of the innocent, for the frequent violations of Sundays and holidays, and the shocking blasphemies uttered against You and Your Saints. We wish also to make amends for the insults to which Your Vicar on earth and Your priests are subjected, for the profanation, by conscious neglect or terrible acts of sacrilege, of the very Sacrament of Your Divine Love; and lastly for the public crimes of nations who resist the rights and teaching authority of the Church which You have founded. Would, O divine Jesus, we were able to wash away such abominations with our blood. We now offer, in reparation for these violations of Your divine honor, the satisfaction You once made to Your eternal Father on the cross and which You continue to renews daily on our altars; we offer it in union with the acts of atonement of Your Virgin Mother and all the Saints and of the pious faithful on earth; and we sincerely promise to make recompense, as far as we can with the help of Your grace, for all neglect of Your great love and for the sins we and others have committed in the past. Henceforth we will live a life of unwavering faith, of purity of conduct, of perfect observance of the precepts of the gospel and especially that of charity. We promise to the best of our power to prevent other from offending You and to bring as many as possible to follow You. O loving Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our model in reparation, deign to receive the voluntary offering we make of this act of expiation; and by the crowing gift of perseverance keep us faithful unto death in our duty and the allegiance we owe to You, so that we may one day come to that happy home, where You with the Father and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, God, world without end. Amen.
Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer — Act of Dedication of the Human Race to Jesus Christ King
Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before you. We are yours, and yours we wish to be; but to be more surely united with you, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to your Most Sacred Heart. Many indeed have never known you; many, too, despising your precepts, have rejected you. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to your Sacred Heart. Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken you, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned you; grant that they may quickly return to their Father’s house, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger. Be King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the harbor of truth and the unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd. Grant, O Lord, to your Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give tranquility of order to all nations; make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to it be glory and honor for ever. Amen.
The Prayer to the Sacred Heart
Oh Lord Jesus Christ, to Your most Sacred Heart I confide this intention {name petition}. Only look upon me, then do what Your love inspires. Let Your Sacred Heart decide. I count on You. I trust in You. I throw myself on Your mercy. Lord Jesus, You will not fail me. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I believe in Your love for me. Sacred Heart of Jesus, Your kingdom come. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I have asked You for many favors, but I earnestly implore this one. Take it, place it in Your open Heart. When the Eternal Father looks upon it, He will see it covered with Your Precious Blood. It will be no longer my prayer, but Yours, Jesus. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You. Let me not be disappointed. Amen.

Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
This nine-day prayer is often said prior to the Feast of the Sacred Heart but can be said anytime. The “Our Father,” “Hail, Mary,” Glory Be,” and “Hail, Holy Queen” are traditional Catholic prayers associated with the Rosary, and can be found online or in most Catholic prayer books. There are other versions of the novena; this is the one that Saint Margaret Mary offered.
O my Jesus, you have said: “Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.” Behold, I knock, I seek, and ask for the grace of (name your request). Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory be to the Father…
